Skill Stakes Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") set out the rules for participating in Skill Stakes competitions, including daily puzzles, seasonal rankings, and prize eligibility. By creating an account or participating in Skill Stakes, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use Skill Stakes.

1. Who We Are

Skill Stakes is operated by Black Flame Digital LTD ("Skill Stakes," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

Skill Stakes is currently available to residents of the United Kingdom.
You must be legally capable of entering a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.
You are responsible for complying with local laws that apply to your participation.
We may require reasonable identity, residency, and eligibility checks before awarding prizes.

3. Account and Participation Rules

You must provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
One person may hold only one active account unless we explicitly allow otherwise.
You must not share accounts, automate participation, or use scripts, bots, or unfair methods.

4. Daily Puzzle Rules

Daily puzzles unlock according to Skill Stakes timing rules and system time.
Puzzle content is hidden until unlock and cannot be accessed early.
Answers are validated by our systems, and our validation result is final unless we identify an internal error.
We may define specific answer formats (e.g., spelling, punctuation, capitalization handling).

5. Scoring and Leaderboards

Scoring is determined under the current Skill Stakes scoring policy published in-app or on our official website.
Leaderboards may be limited (for example, top users only) and may refresh in near real time.
In tie situations, we may use timestamp-based or other published tie-break rules.
We may correct obvious scoring or ranking errors, including after publication.

6. Seasonal Challenges and Final Puzzle

Seasonal structure, number of puzzles, and final challenge format may vary by season.
Any multipliers, bonuses, or special mechanics are governed by the policy in effect for that season.
We may update season mechanics prospectively and will publish material changes.

7. Prizes

Prize descriptions, quantities, eligibility requirements, and claim windows are announced in-app or in season-specific rules.
No prize transfer, substitution, or cash alternative is required unless we decide otherwise or law requires it.
We may substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value when reasonably necessary.
Winners are responsible for any taxes, duties, and reporting obligations unless law requires otherwise.
We may withhold, revoke, or recover prizes where fraud, abuse, ineligibility, or rule violations are identified.

8. Fair Play and Anti-Cheat

You must not:

attempt unauthorized access to systems, APIs, or unpublished content;
reverse engineer, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with service integrity;
manipulate timing, submissions, ads, or rankings;
collude, impersonate others, or provide false verification information.

We may investigate suspected abuse and may suspend accounts, remove scores, disqualify entries, or take legal action.

9. Ads and Third-Party Services

Skill Stakes may display advertising and integrate third-party services (for example, analytics, authentication, hosting, and ad delivery, including providers such as Google AdMob). Your use of third-party features may also be subject to those providers’ terms and privacy notices.

10. Changes, Suspension, and Discontinuation

We may modify, pause, or discontinue features, seasons, scoring mechanics, or availability at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms or to protect service integrity.
Material updates to these Terms will be posted with an updated “Last updated” date.
Changes take effect on publication unless a later date is stated. Continued participation after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in Skill Stakes, including software, branding, puzzle content, and platform materials, are owned by us or our licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial participation.

12. Disclaimers

Skill Stakes is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skill Stakes and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
